One of the most popular hikes in the Vosges region is “Sentier des Roches”.

We parked our car at one of the most famous cols, Col de la Schlucht. Here you also have a luge run, perfect of the (not so) little ones.

This 11k hike will start at Col de la Schlucht and through Sentier des Roches we walk to the top of the Hohneck and back to Col de la Schlucht.

The first part is mainly over rocks, which can be slippery when wet. There is a lot of variation during the walk; not only rocks but also forest and wide vista’s. At the top of the Hohneck we are surprised by fog and we can’t admire the view.

Along the hike we stopped at a little cottage to eat our lunch and buy some amazing hot chocolate (made from fresh milk). We top it all of with a homemade cherry pie.

This is the perfect hike to do when you are in the neighborhood but not for people who are afraid of heights.
