This week’s photo is by Vaisakhi Mishra. She is an Indian travel blogger currently studying Information Management in Seattle, US and runs a travel blog called ‘just Words‘. Her blog is a collection of her travels and stories from offbeat places or not so famous corners of famous places in the world.

This is an old shine of tantriki or ‘magic’ worship in Odisha, India, is called the Chausathi Yogini Temple and is one of the 4 surviving temples of this pattern in the whole world. Built somewhere around 9th century during Bramha Dynasty, this Chausathi Yogini Temple of Hirapur is believed to be the most preserved yogini temples of India where locals still offer prayers to Goddess Durga but the Tantrik practices are long forgotten.
