Hiking: Sentier des Roches in France
One of the most popular hikes in the Vosges region is “Sentier des Roches”.
We parked our car at one of the most famous cols, Col de la Schlucht. Here you also have a luge run, perfect for the (not so) little ones.
This 11k hike will start at Col de la Schlucht and through Sentier des Roches we walk to the top of the Hohneck and back to Col de la Schluch
The first part is mainly over rocks, which can be slippery when wet. There is a lot of variation during the walk; not only rocks but also forest and wide vistas. At the top of the Hohneck we are surprised by fog and we can’t admire the view.
Along the hike, we stopped at a little cottage to eat our lunch and buy some amazing hot chocolate (made from fresh milk). We top it all of with a homemade cherry pie.
This is the perfect hike to do when you are in the neighborhood but not for people who are afraid of heights.
You can find more information about Sentier des Roches here.
How incredibly beautiful Sharon! Thanks for the images. This place reminds me so much of Montverde, Costa Rica. From the mountain views to the foggy feel, definitely a dead ringer on so many levels. Ominous looking and inviting at the same time. Although can this be? LOL…..Awesome share, and happy hiking!

Thank you 🙂 this was actually the best day of our holiday with almost no rain that day :). But I do love hikes like this one
What amazing pictures, Sharon. I love to hike – this region definitely looks like I should check it out. Thanks for sharing 🙂
