Hotel B55 in Paris

Hotel B55 is perfectly located in the 13th district in Paris in the charming Butte aux Cailles neighborhood, within walking distance of several transportation possibilities (metro, bus and tramway). It is right around the corner from Parc Montsouris, a large public parc created by Emperor Napoleon III. On weekends, the parc is extremely popular with joggers and families. It is also a 15 min walk from the Catacombs of Paris, a macabre but interesting tourist attraction.

Rooms

The rooms are on the bigger side for Paris and very warmly decorated. The bed was so comfortable! The wine theme of the hotel is visible also in the rooms, with a wine fridge inside the room. There is also a coffee maker and small mini bar.

The bathroom is very spacious, and I was lucky enough to have a bathtub. It wasn’t big enough for me to lie in it completely though. But it was nice to relax after a long day in Paris. There are also some amenities: soap, shampoo, body lotion, shoe polish and a comb.

Breakfast

Breakfast is included and is typically French: baguettes and viennoiseries. You can also make your own small waffles, cook eggs and get fresh orange juice. The breakfast was more than enough to start your day exploring Paris.

Wine

The breakfast area is also the bar where you will find a self-service wine dispenser. You can choose from different wines and sizes. We didn’t try it because there were multiple bars in the neighborhood that were cozier.

Wellness and pool

There is a small indoor heated pool as well as a small sauna. Although it was open till midnight, we didn’t try it (we didn’t have our bathing suits with us).

Conclusion

Hotel B55 is a very good hotel to explore Paris: big rooms and breakfast included. Perfect for exploring Paris! It is a little bit further from the main tourist attractions but the metro will get you in downtown Paris in no time. The neighborhood also has cozy bars and restaurants.
