In about 5 weeks, my boyfriend and I are flying to Des Moines to start our 3th road trip in the USA. It is not the most popular starting point, but there is a very good reason for that. Friends of ours are getting married and we are happy to be invited to celebrate it with them.

After the wedding and some days of exploring Des Moines, with probably a lot of food :), we will be driving to Rapid City after a stop in Sioux Falls. Staying in Rapid City, we will visit Mt Rushmore and Badlands.

Then we will drive to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national park. We will stay in Cody, Dubois, and Island Park so we can explore different parts of the parks. We are very excited for visiting these places for a week and hope to see some bears and doing some nice hikes. We still need to look into the different hikes that are possible but I think there will not be a shortage of fantastic hikes.

After some nature, we will drive to Salt Lake City to span the long ride to Las Vegas. In between we will also visit Zion National Park for a day. Three years ago, we also visited Zion and already explored most of the park. Now we will probably do the Narrows if the weather conditions allow it.
In Las Vegas, we will probably do a short day trip to red rock canyon and the Hoover Dam.
