An excellent idea for enjoying the outdoors at the Belgian Coast is a visit to The Zwin, a nature Parc with a lot to offer. The Zwin dunes and polders are perfect for walking, cyclists, or horseback riding. Bird spotters are in the right place because of the thousands of birds that land at the Zwin to breed, hibernate or look for food. Especially the stork stand out when you enter Zwin Nature Parc.
We decided to follow the cabin trail in the park. In a number of cabins, employees are happy to tell you more about certain creatures living in the water or about the birds that are in the dunes and polders.
Zwin plain
The Zwin Nature Parc connects to the Zwin plain which can be explored in different ways. We opted for the green route that is easily accessible with plain shoes and strollers when the weather is dry. Or you can kick off your shoes and follow the barefoot path.
The Zwin is free but for access to the Zwin Nature Parc you have to pay (12 euro for adults and free for children under the age of 6). A map and access to the interactive exhibition are included.
