Checking in: Hotel Linnen in Nijmegen (Netherlands)

Hotel Linnen in Nijmegen, The Netherlands looks like an ordinary building from the outside. But it is much more than that: In this beautiful building from 1903 lies a small hotel that was renovated in 2018. The small scale of the hotel makes it much more personal. The owner, Suzanne, made sure that I had a table at their restaurant Prikkels in the city. More about the restaurant later, now about Hotel Linnen.

The hotel has the best location: not really in the city center but still close enough so you can walk everywhere. The train station is a 15 min walk away. 

Reception

Beforehand, I called when I would be arriving so Suzanne could wait for me so I could check in. I was immediately brought to a beautiful room. 

Rooms

The rooms were very nicely decorated with very soft materials and colors. The comfortable bed was very tempting to crawl into. There is also a nespresso coffee machine in the room, as wel as a personalized bottle of water. 

The bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a painted glass wall. I had to look twice before I noticed it was the bathroom, it blends very well with the rest of the style. A big shower and deliciously smelling shower gel is all it takes to relax after the trip from Belgium to The Netherlands. 

Breakfast

You can have breakfast in their restaurant in the city from 9 am. But if this is too late, there is still the kitchen where you will find everything for a good start of the day: bread, fillings, yoghurt and muesli. And you can even make your own eggs. The personalized card on the table and the flowers make it even more homey. 

Conclusion

Hotel Linnen is the perfect hotel for exploring Nijmegen: excellent location, comfortable rooms and a very personal experience.
