Labranda Alantur Resort in Alanya (Turkey)

Every year we do 1 beach vacation, often to Egypt in March. This year we decided to go to Turkey: we booked a trip to Alanya: Labranda Alantur.

Alanya

Alanya is a 2-hour drive from Antalya and is one of the busiest resorts on the Turkish Riviera.

How to go to Alanya

We chose a package tour with Sunweb because it was the easiest. You can also book transfers so you don’t have to think about anything.

But of course, it is also possible to book your flight and hotel separately. We always book hotels via Booking. You can also book Labranda Alantur through Booking via this link. Check Momondo or Skyscanner for flight times and prices from your country.

Visum

Belgian and Dutch tourists need only an identity card or an international passport to travel to Turkey. Keep in mind that your ID card or passport must still be valid for at least 6 months. Check in advance what the requirements are for your nationality

Best travel period

The best period to travel to Alanya is April/May or October/November. The maximum temperatures then range from 21 to 25 degrees with a chance of rain. The summer months of June-August are hot (30-35 degrees) but with less chance of rain. Evenings are chilly in spring/autumn, so a sweater is recommended.

We went in late May for a week and had temperatures of 27-31 degrees (and half an hour of rain).

Labranda Alantur Resort

Labranda Alantur is located on a private beach about a 2-hour drive from Antalya airport.

We arrived at the hotel very late (3 am) and were checked in very quickly. We were given a nice fresh bottle of water before being taken to the room.

The rooms are all spread over the property in different buildings. There are 3 swimming pools and a pebble beach. Between the beach and the hotel buildings, there is also a lawn with trees where there are also loungers.

Divided over the property are 3 bars with also a small fitness, spa center, and tennis courts.

In the restaurant you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner in buffet style. For breakfast, there is plenty of variety: yogurt, fresh fruit, different types of bread, pancakes, omelet, …. Lunch and dinner are similar: raw vegetables, various hot dishes and Turkish pizzas. There is also an extensive dessert buffet each time (be sure to try the cheesecake and carrot cake). Several nights a week there are theme nights, such as Turkish night or seafood (with sushi). There was not a lot of variety in the food, but enough for us for a week. In the restaurant and in each bar, there are also refrigerators where you can take bottled water. Perfect when the weather is hot.

The room we had was good enough: a big bed, a normal-sized bathroom, and a small refrigerator. Everything was also very clean and every day we got 4 bottles of water in the room. The shower was perfect: instant hot water and a strong water jet. The rooms are also very well insulated (or the people around us were not very loud), but we had little trouble with ambient noise.

Unlike last year, there was no need for towel service in the morning at this hotel. There were more than enough beach beds on the beach, grass, and at the pools so you didn’t have to get up early to have a seat. The wifi was tremendously good throughout the hotel, including in the rooms.

During our stay we also did 1 treatment at the spa: scrub, hammam, and a massage. Before you book a treatment, you get a 10-minute massage for free first so they can also recommend which massage would be appropriate. But, of course, you are not obliged to follow their advice. The whole treatment of sauna, scrub, hammam, and massage took about 2h. Definitely highly recommended!

There are also several bars throughout the hotel where you can enjoy different drinks with always very friendly service. I only took gin-tonic this time and they were not very sparing with the alcohol. The glasses of wine were also well stocked.

Trips

We did not leave the hotel because there was not any excursion that appealed to us. But if you want, there are a lot of activities you can book with GetYourGuide

We enjoyed a week at Labranda Alantur. If you are looking for a hotel that is not super big but has everything for a week of relaxation, this is ideal.
