Hotel: Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort in Egypt
We booked a room at the Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort for a week all-inclusive in February. The temperature was just perfect, around 28 degrees Celsius with a light breeze making it enjoyable to be in the sun all day. Egypt is an amazing place for a holiday, especially in winter because you are sure there will be sun. Together with the possibilities for culture in Luxor, and exciting activities such as riding quads in the desert, diving, and snorkeling, Egypt has something for everyone.
Location
Marsa Alam is located on the shore of the Red Sea, 220km South of Hurghada. Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort is approximately 34km from Marsa Alam center and 30km from Marsa Alam International Airport.
Getting there
Marsa Alam has its own international airport with flights from Brussels, Amsterdam, and Cairo.
When arriving in Egypt, you have to get a visa, but this is pretty straightforward. The price was 25 dollars but it is rumored it will go up to 60 dollars.
Outside the airport terminal, you can take a taxi for around 35 euros for 2 persons that will take you to the Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort in about 30 minutes.
Hotel
When you enter Hilton Marsa Alam, you are welcomed in the beautiful lobby with a welcome drink: a cold hibiscus tea (Karkadé) while you check in.
Rooms
All the rooms are in bungalows divided across the beautiful domain.
We had a room with a garden view, which was beautiful, especially when enjoying it from your private patio
The rooms of Hilton Marsa Alam are all beautifully decorated and spacious. They have all the comfort you would want such as a refrigerator and coffee and tea facilities.
And when you are entering your room after a day in the desert or in the sun, nothing is nicer than enjoying a nice bath or shower. The shower gel that you get in your room smells amazing.
Every day we came back to a clean room with our beds made in a special way.
Because the tap water is not drinkable, the complimentary bottle of water every day was very welcome. Although all the drinks during the day are included.
One downside was the lack of wifi in the rooms.
Facilities
With 4 pools, of which 2 are heated in the winter, and a beach there is a lot of room to enjoy the sun and a refreshing dive.
We liked our cocktails before dinner in the lobby bar. Tasty cocktails (and gin tonic) served with a smile.
In the bars and at the pools and beach, there is wifi, but when a lot of people are surfing, it gets really slow.
Food
My favorite part of an all-inclusive holiday is the food. Everything is amazing here with a different theme every evening (Italian, Tex-Mex, American, …). There is a salad section, bread section, and a variety of meats, vegetables, and rice.
And the desserts are amazing: I like sweet stuff and this was just perfect. But if you want, there is also fresh fruit.
For breakfast, you can have an omelet or any style of egg made for you. Besides that, you have a lot of options, so you never get bored.
Activities
If you want to burn off all the calories you have eaten, you can go to the fitness center or run at the special running course that goes around the resort. Although the gym is very basic, you can have a decent workout.
We booked 2 massages while we were there. They were amazing: 50 minutes of relaxing and feeling all the tension slip away.
There is also a diving center and the possibility to book a number of activities through the hotel. The private beach has a private reef perfect for snorkeling. We didn’t do it because we thought the water was a bit cold.
Conclusion
I loved Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort: the facilities, the food, the spa treatment, and the very friendly people. This is the perfect hotel for your next holiday under the sun. Especially in winter, when it is cold in Europe, Egypt is the perfect destination.

Curious about what we did while we were in Marsa Alam? We did a trip to Luxor and a super safari.
