Airlines with free stopover
If you are taking a long trip, it can be nice to have a free stopover along the way. Several airlines offer such a stopover, with or without free hotels. Below is a list of all airlines that offer this.
Icelandair
Icelandair is, I think, the best-known airline offering this. You can make a stopover of up to 7 days in Reykjavik. You do not get discounts on hotels or excursions, but on the website, there are ready-made itineraries to make the most of your visit. More information about the stopover can be found here.

KLM/Air France
Spent 24 hours or more in Paris or Amsterdam during a connection between 2 flights, operated by Air France, KLM, or one of the airline’s partners. You don’t get any discounts or hotels when booking a stopover. All information can be found here.
Finnair
Spend a layover in Helsinki for 6 to 24 hours. You can book a hotel for a discounted rate, and the website also provides you with itineraries perfect for the amount of time you will have to visit the city. All information about the stopover can be found here.
TAP Air Portugal
If you book with TAP Air Portugal, you can make a free stopover in Lisbon or Porto for up to 10 days (not all routes allow this). You get 25% off domestic flights to explore other parts of Portugal (including Madeira and the Azores). There is also a 20% discount on hotels and discounts on excursions and in restaurants. Iberia
Through Iberia, you can make a stopover in Madrid for up to 7 days. You get discounts on hotels and excursions, and a city card to explore the city for free for the first 2 days. All the info can be found here.

Azores Airlines
When you fly between North America and Europe, you can add a stopover at the Azores (Sao Miguel or Terceira) for up to 7 days. Perfect to explore this beautiful island. You can read all about it here.
LOT Polish Airlines
You can stay in Warsaw for 1-8 days and enjoy a 25% discount on domestic flights. You can also enjoy a dozen offers and discounts from partners (hotels, restaurants, sightseeing). More information about the stopover can be found here.
Turkish Airlines
With Turkish Airlines, you can make a free stopover in Istanbul if your transfer time is at least 20 hours. Economy Class passengers get a free overnight stay in a 4-star hotel. Business Class passengers get 2 free nights in a 5-star hotel. All information can be found here.

Air Canada

Etihad
With Etihad, make a stopover in Abu Dhabi, where you get a free overnight stay for up to 2 nights in a 3-star hotel. Qatar Airways
Make a stopover of up to 4 days in Doha with Qatar Airways. You can already book a 4-star hotel for $14 for one night or an all-inclusive beach hotel for $144 per night. All the information can be found here.

Emirates
And then there is Emirates, where you can have a free stopover in Dubai. Your transit time has to be between 8 and 26 hours, though. You then get a free hotel stay, transfers, meals, and a visa. All the information can be found here.

Saudi
Experience Saudi Arabia with a stopover in Riyadh or Jeddah with easy E-visa issuance. You can stay up to 4 days. There are no discounts on hotels for your stay. Find all information here.
Cathay Pacific
With Cathay Pacific, you can make a stopover of up to 7 days at Hong Kong. You do not get discounts on hotels or excursions, but you can get a free tour of Hong Kong. More information about the stopover can be found here.

Fiji Airways

With Ethiopian Airlines, you can make a stopover for 8 to 24 hours in Addis Ababa. You will receive a hotel voucher so you can explore the city while you wait. More information can be found here.
China Southern
You can receive one free night’s accommodation (including breakfast and transport) if you qualify. For passengers who don’t qualify, a preferential price is available at a specific hotel.
