This 2.2 km (1.4 mile) hike in Dixie National Forest, Utah is not a popular one. We were the only one there at that point to hike the Vermillion Castle Trail. But, that makes it even better, I don’t like hikes where there are a lot of people.
Although it is a short hike, it is a tough one: a lot of switchbacks where you climb very fast. Especially in summer, you need to bring enough water because it is hot :).
But, the view from the top is amazing.
This short but sweet hike is perfect to do when you are in the neighborhood and you don’t want to do long hikes in the sun.
