Hotel Motel One in Brussels

Living in Belgium doesn’t mean that we visit Brussels enough, unfortunately. It was about time to visit our capital again so we booked a room at Hotel Motel One in Brussels to enjoy everything that Brussels has to offer.

Hotel Motel One Brussels is conveniently located about 10 minutes walking from the train station (Brussels-Central) and the Grand Place. The perfect location for your exploration of the city: still within walking distance of all the main attractions but in a more quiet area of the capital.

The lobby/bar was beautifully decorated with a lot of eye for detail. We couldn’t wait to have a drink here.

Check-in was fast and although we were there around 1 pm, our room was already available. We got a room in the ‘basement’. The window of the room directly comes out onto the patio so in the summer when people are having a drink outside, they can see directly into your room. And not to mention the noise you would probably have. Not the best room to get.

The size of the room was more than enough for 1 night. The rooms were nicely decorated and like in the lobby, the colors of the hotel are also reflected here.

The bathroom was rather small but had a big walk-in shower. There weren’t a lot of toiletries present, just some plastic cups (personally I prefer real glasses). I didn’t really like hand soap dispenser, I think it would be more hygienic to have the individually packed little soaps.

In the evening, we had a drink in the bar. It was a little bit crowded on a Saturday evening, but we managed to grab some comfortable chairs and have a last drink before going to bed. It was a little bit pricey (3 euro for a soft drink) but I must admit that the hot chocolate was delicious. You get a big glass of hot milk and some chocolate to melt in it.

All in all, a very good hotel to explore Brussels for the weekend: a good location, beautiful bar and cozy rooms (if you don’t have a room in the ‘basement’).
