Tips when visiting Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris can be very busy, especially in the summer months. And although it is a big park, waiting times can be as high as 2-3 h. Not only the rides can be busy, but also the shops, restaurants, shows, and parades can be very busy. There are a few tips when visiting Disneyland Paris.

The first tip is to buy your tickets in advance on the website.

Disney tips

Go by bus or train from Paris

Take a bus from one of the airports of Paris or book a ticket for 1 day with a transfer from the center of Paris by bus.

You can also take atrain from Paris or Charles-de-Gaulle airport to the park.

Use the Disneyland App

The Disneyland app gives real-time waiting times for all the rides in both Disneyland and Disney Studios. It also gives the times of all the shows and the parade. You can even reserve restaurants with the app.

Stay at a Disney Hotel

If you stay at a Disney Hotel, you can access the park from 8.30 am instead of 10 am, giving you an extra 1.5 h to go to the most popular rides like Ratatouille, Big Thunder Mountain, or Hyperspace Mountain. Keep in mind that not all rides are open. You can check which rides are open with the Disneyland app. When staying in a Disney Hotel, you also get free parking. The cheapest is Davy Crockett Ranch (10 min drive from Disneyland) where you stay at little houses. Also, Hotel Cheyenne is very nice. Definitely check for special offers regularly.

Or choose 1 of the partner hotels: you will be further from the park but there is a free shuttle and often free parking at the hotels.

In the park itself

Try to do one part of the park at a time. This will not only save you steps but also time. If possible, start your day with the most popular ride you really want to do.

If you are visiting both parks, it is best to start at Disney Studios because they close earlier.

Not interested in the parade or the Disney Illuminations show? It can be a good idea to do some of the popular rides at that time. Want to know what our favorite rides are? Find it out here.

Single rider

Some rides offer a separate waiting line for single riders. How does it work? For example, a family of 3 is getting in a 4-person car. The single rider will be placed in the 4th seat.

You don’t get to sit next to each other, but the waiting times are considerably shorter. We waited 45 min in line for Ratatouille while my boyfriend and a friend waited 10 min as a single rider.

It is available at the following rides:

  • Disneyland:
    • Hyperspace mountain
    • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
  • Disney Studios:
    • RC racer
    • Ratatouille
    • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
    • Crush’s coaster

Reserve your seat at a restaurant

If you don’t want to waste time during the day waiting in line at a restaurant, you can pack your own lunch, or you can wait until after lunch hour. For dinner, it is best to reserve your seat at one of the restaurants in the park. We had dinner at Davy Crocket Ranch (buffet) and it was very good.
